The highest navigable lake in the world
Lake Titikaka at more than 3,800 meters above sea level. The city of Puno is located on the shores of Titikaka and is the entrance to start the visit to the famous floating reed islands of the Uros. The floating islands are made of cane de Totora, where the Uros people have managed to forge a lifestyle that has endured through the centuries. The remote islands of Taquila and Amantani maintain many of their core traditions and cultures, and are renowned for their exquisite weaving factories.
